Job Introduction
What is the role?
This role will sit in our Technology function partnering closely with our Product team to deliver consistent, reliable change across technology platforms and business areas.
The Delivery Manager will oversee the delivery of technology-driven outcomes. This role requires strong leadership, excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and experience across multiple delivery methodologies, from agile to waterfall.
As the Delivery manager you will:
ØPartner with Product to define initiatives and/or products with clear outcomes
ØUse your experience of various delivery methodologies to shape the best approach for initiatives within your squad(s) or third-party suppliers
ØPlan and estimate initiatives at both squad level and across squads and third-party suppliers. Input to technology organisation planning activities such as quarterly planning, annual planningØLead squad(s) and / or project teams, providing direction and support to ensure successful initiative delivery. Remove day to day blockers
ØApply critical thinking and decision-making skills to resolve delivery challenges. Leverage domain knowledge to guide decisions to support successful delivery.
ØIdentify and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies to initiative outcomes
ØAccountable for squad and initiative budget management, including forecasting and variance management
ØCommunicate delivery progress with business stakeholders ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the initiatives
You will also support the delivery community to:
ØDrive excellence in delivery through effective processes and practices.
ØDevelop and empower team members to achieve their full potential.
ØFoster a positive team culture and engage team members effectively.
And you will have:
ØTrack record of delivering Technology initiatives in a retail environment utilising multiple delivery methodologies
ØPrevious experience delivering and working with highly skilled engineering squads, and an understanding of the application of Agile and Engineering principles
ØKnowledge of the high-level architecture, platforms and engineering techniques required to drive customer experience. Be able to understand a technical architecture to be able to foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines and implementation plans.
ØExcellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage, engage and collaborate with a wide range of complex stakeholders, building a shared and compelling vision
ØExperience of budgetary responsibility and close control using appropriate rigour
ØKnowledge of software integration, engineering and infrastructure practices and implementation to appreciate delivery challenges.
ØExperience of using data to encourage innovation and track benefits
