About the team - Enterprise Learning and Skills

Our objective is that in five years, Pearson will be one of the major players in the workforce development market reaching tens of millions of enterprise and individual learners globally, generating more than £1bn in revenue and growing rapidly with the potential to reach many multiples of that revenue in the years to come. The Enterprise Learning & Skills (ELS) business division will be the driving force in realising this ambition.

One of the cornerstones of ELS is our Vocational Qualifications (VQ) business. Every year, we deliver nearly 1 million qualification outcomes to BTEC students and Apprentices, spanning all sectors, ages and education settings. We are proud of the impact that we have and maintain a robust, complex qualifications delivery operation at scale and in line with Ofqual regulatory requirements.

About The Role:

We are seeking a Delivery Manager to work closely with different teams and departments to ensure key delivery processes run effectively.

These processes ensure our ability to deliver International Qualifications across the globe. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure key dates and milestones are met throughout the year and take proactive action to manage emerging risks. This role requires effective stakeholder management and the ability to understand complex processes, manage working groups, and input into relevant governance forums. You will act as a bridge between different departments to ensure process handovers and milestones are met.

This is an exciting opportunity for a sector experienced individual looking to navigate a career in project management or for a more junior project manager looking to build on their experience.

Responsibilities include:

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Provide stakeholder and governance updates.
  • Lead working groups and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams

Delivery & Project Management

  • Develop operational plans with stakeholders.
  • Manage timelines and progress.
  • RAID tracking (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies).
  • Monitor performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Mitigate delivery risks and ensure deliverables are met and support issue resolutions.

Who we are looking for:

You should be a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with some commercial and financial awareness. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and time management skills, along with a proactive problem-solving approach. You must be able to work effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability and flexibility are key, as the role requires responding to changing priorities with ease.

In addition, the following would be advantageous:

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Project Management certification (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in the education sector or with vocational qualifications (preferred but not essential)

Skills you will develop in this role:

  • Leadership and team management
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Project management techniques
  • Risk management and mitigation
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Data-driven decision making
