NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

The Role

Reporting to the NSG Head of Engineering, the Decommissioning Engineering Manager will be technically competent with sufficient practical experience and can attain a minimum level of DV clearance. They will be responsible for providing the engineering direction and oversight to the Decommissioning function to provide delivery of the following:
• Engineering line management of multidiscipline engineering team
• Working closely with Project Managers to provide resource management of multidiscipline engineering team
- Assessing and sentencing of team SQEP
- Allocation of Engineers to meet project demands.
• Experience/designing of Decommissioning techniques:
- Size reduction, including familiarisation with tooling and size reduction techniques
- Segregation/sorting
- Temporary Containment Systems including Ventilated Temporary Enclosures (VTE) and Modular Containment Systems (MCS)
- Remote handling/shielding
- Decontamination techniques
- Nuclear Ventilation
- Lifting operations
- Safe access
• Optioneering experience
