About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We're home to the most important conversations happening today and we're making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here's where you can help decide a better future for us all. The twin impacts of the housing crisis and more recently the cost-of-living crisis is pushing more and more of our communities into financial distress and to debt and we are tackling this problem head on with our new Money Advice Service.

How You'll Be Involved

We're looking for a dynamic leader to lead our new debt prevention service, bringing together experts in debt, welfare, and financial inclusion. As the service lead, you'll oversee a team of 15 advisors, working closely with our Local Welfare Assistance Programme Manager to deliver a targeted service that proactively supports households in debt.

You'll use data analysis to identify residents at risk of debt and make proactive contact, working closely with our policy researcher, senior data analyst, and data apprentice to develop strategies. Your team will work in the open, presenting their work to a broad audience and building partnerships across the Council.

In addition to leading the debt prevention service, you'll also work on programme leadership for debt transformation, coordinating efforts to model best practice in public sector debt collection. You'll guide service redesign, identifying pain points in debt collection and coordinating teams to deliver transformation. Your priority will be a corporate debt approach, exploring how revenues officers can collaborate more closely around residents with multiple council debts.

As a key representative of the London Borough of Camden, you'll attend local, regional, and national meetings, supporting the Head of Debt and Financial Resilience on poverty, debt, and welfare-related work.
