BRAND: Starcom
Job Function: Data Sciences
Location: London, United Kingdom
Experience Level: Intermediate
Workplace Type: Hybrid

Company description

With a history that dates back over 80 years, Starcom is a global communications planning and media leader. We are an agency still grounded in our founding principle that people are at the centre of all we do. Each day, we apply this belief to harness the transformative power of data and technology to inspire and move people and business forward. With more than 7,000 employees in over 100 offices around the world, we are the flagship Publicis Media agency that uses our 'Power of One' business model, with teams that span multiple disciplines across clients such as Aldi, P&G, Primark, Samsung, Stellantis, and Visa.

We place a huge focus on our People, and have driven flagship D&I and L&D programmes within Publicis Media; our goal is to help every individual reach their fullest potential, and we encourage everyone to make "Brave Plays" in how they approach their work and their own career development. As a result, we have an exceptionally energised and committed talent base, all of us proud of our welcoming and supportive culture, as evidenced by our recognition as one of Campaign's Best Places to Work for five years in a row, Media Week's Agency of the Year 2025 and one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025.

Overview

What will you be doing?

Performing exploratory analysis with business and media performance data to inform both future planning (e.g. audience selection) and day-to-day digital optimisations. You'll be presenting your findings back to various stakeholders and building data visualizations to connect with stakeholders less savvy in data analysis.

IN 6 MONTHS', TIME...

We'd expect you to be working closely (and largely independently) with the Starcom Planning and Activation teams to answer their burning questions through bespoke analysis and measurement strategies.

You'll also be a pro at building interactive visualizations (dashboards) and be confident in using web analytics platforms like Google Analytics. After 6 months, you'll have developed a good understanding of the different measurement solutions available across Publicis Media (as well as the wider industry) to help match challenges with the best possible solution.

Move People

You will have the chance to be a major contributor to shaping the culture of the teams that work in the agency. Under this goal, you'll:

Build strong, trusted relationships with Planning Teams, ensuring you're their first port of call for data interpretation and visualization questions

Actively develop yourself as an analyst and keep current with industry developments

Embody the Starcom idea of Brave Plays to step outside the scope of your day-to-day work and challenge the status quo when you spot opportunities for improvement (especially in regard to processes)

Move Business

Our goal is to create brilliant experiences that drive faster growth for our clients, and you will work with various teams within the broader Publicis Media organisation (Content, Sports, Data and Commerce Practices) to do so. Under this banner, you'll be responsible for:

Continuously innovating and developing cross-team solutions to build proposals and drive agency revenue growth

Supporting DDT Directors with the development of measurement plans in support of data driven learning agendas

Contributing to case study and award writing to demonstrate insight derived

Delivering operational excellence by ensuring timely timesheet and mandatory training completion (amongst other tasks)

Qualifications

•Have a true passion for making a difference internally and for our client's business

•Be highly organized and have a high attention to detail

•Have excellent relationship building, communication, and presentation skills

•Be capable of explaining technical concepts to individuals with diverse levels of technical expertise

•Be able to work independently in applying knowledge as well as seek guidance where needed

•Be a self-starter with a curiosity to seek opportunities outside the margins of everyday work.

•Be comfortable in a client-facing role

•Be relentless in the pursuit of finding insights in the data to drive growth and business

In order to be successful in this role, you'll have experience in/knowledge of

•In-depth experience analysing, interpreting and visualising data

Don't be put off applying if you don't meet all the criteria - if you meet over half, then this could be the right role for you; just don't forget to be clear on how you meet these criteria in your application. Equally, we don't specifically look for people with university degrees; experience and aptitude are much more important to us.
