DC Operations Manager (6161)

Our Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain & Logistics Director you will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of our third party logistics (3PL) distribution centre (DC) in Rockingham, Northampton.

Your key focus will be on delivering (or exceeding) the set service levels of the operation, being the 'go to person' for all aspects of the DC services (Direct, Retail and B2B) for both the wider TWC Head Office Teams as well as from the 3PL Partner perspective, and providing senior leadership within the wider department.

The Rockingham operation is newly established and, as such, the primary focus in the short term is to deliver a Peak performance that delights our customers, retail colleagues and B2B Partners. Thereafter, you will develop and deliver the DC strategy to enhance services as required by the respective sales channels and underpin the business growth plan with the enabling DC execution plan.

Location: Rockingham Distribution Centrewith weekly presence at TWC Head Office locations
What you'll be doing

  • Analyse operational performance data to ensure service levels are met and then exceeded and take accountability for any corrective action as required.
  • Take accountability for 3PL contract management.
  • Develop and deliver a continuous improvement plan with the DC team, improving SLAs for all fulfilment channels; for example, Direct to be a despatch that has a 22:00 cut off time daily and standard order despatch to be 100% by day 1.
  • Embed the TWC brand, values and service levels within the 3PL operation.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure process compliance for HMRC submissions.
  • Take ownership of the development and delivery of the budget (service and costs).
  • Provide budget control for open book costs.
  • Manage any value added services work in terms of both cost and lead time.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration with the Inbound, Planning and Transport management peer group.
  • Develop strong relationships with the DC management team, creating a sense that the team is an extension of our own, whilst presenting yourself as the owner and leader for the DC operation.
  • Maintain a customer focus at all times and work closely with the Customer team regarding customer performance.
  • Facilitate 3PL relationships with other key partners: Freight forwarders, Transport and Internet Carriers.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to analysts within the wider team, and manage and develop any direct reports.
  • Provide cover for peers during holiday periods to ensure that the Supply Chain & Logistics Team functions seamlessly.
  • Represent the SC&L team in the absence of the Director as required.
  • Problem solve on a day to day basis.
  • Continually demonstrate TWC leadership behaviours.
