This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
Job description
This role is a key part of the Data Protection Compliance team, with significant responsibility across a broad geographical region. You will support the Group Data Protection Officer (DPO) and play a central role in ensuring the business meets its legal and regulatory obligations under GDPR and other applicable data protection laws, including local requirements within your remit. You will also contribute to wider team initiatives, with increased responsibility for delivery within your region.
Reporting to the Group DPO, you'll provide regular updates to ensure appropriate oversight and maintain full compliance with company policies. As with any dynamic role, you may also be asked to take on additional responsibilities in line with business needs.
What you'll be doing
- Maintain up-to-date expertise on data protection laws, including GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and local regulations across all relevant markets
- Provide clear, practical guidance on complex data protection issues, supporting stakeholders in implementing compliant solutions
- Manage key privacy processes such as DPIAs, LIAs, ROPA, Privacy by Design, information rights, and regulatory complaints
- Act as a compliance consultant to the business, balancing data protection requirements with operational needs and risk appetite
- Monitor regulatory developments and identify opportunities to strengthen data protection practices, policies, and training.
- Collaborate with Information Security and Risk teams to identify, assess, and manage privacy and security risks
- Maintain accurate documentation and deliver regular reports and metrics to the Group Data Protection Officer for oversight
- Liaise with regulators and third parties on matters such as data breaches, complaints, investigations, and vendor compliance.
Who we are looking for
- Extensive expertise in GDPR, DPA, and global data protection laws, with hands-on experience applying them in complex, regulated, and commercial environments across multiple jurisdictions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with confidence presenting in various forums, influencing stakeholders, and contributing across teams and governance bodies
- Proactive, analytical, and outcome-focused mindset, with keen attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and drive results independently
- A collaborative team player who brings a positive, approachable attitude, shares knowledge openly, and engages confidently across business areas.
