Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Location: Birmingham (B24 9HY) This is office based however is some flexibility after 3 months to work from home for a day

Salary £35-40000 + 11.25% on target bonus, plus 25 days holiday

DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Data Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. This role is to provide leadership, direction and strategy for the Data Services team. You will manage, maintain and support all data/information within all operational applications for the EU & UK LLP's.

You will have the opportunity in this role to develop and improve data management processes and reporting methods as well as finding new and innovative ways to construct data and introduce new tools to the business.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

Key in this position is the experience or ability to lead a team, and to have the passion and understanding of how whole systems work together. Part of the interview process will be a presentation using a given data set and questions on excel so being truly comfortable in a data environment is vital

• Maintain/ update and check key operational data set up and flows (vendors/plant codes, parts/packaging, service providers, rates etc.) for the EU and UK LLP to ensure that all jobs are planned to the agreed SLA requirements
• Generate ideas for continuous improvement of processes for the LLP
• Managing issues and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Responsible for maintaining all data, information and co-ordinating all flows in the operational applications
• Provide data/information to DHL/JLR upon request regarding planning, system reports and operations
• Improve operational and planning data/information through continuous improvement initiatives
• Build a strong working relationship with all key stakeholders
• Support and give any relevant training to the DHL teams relating to data and system data related configuration
• Run reports and extract data from CMMS and SAP (JLR systems) to support the customer and DHL EU & UK teams
• Upload data into the transport systems for New Model/Major re-plan activities
• Support the IT department in their Data Systems Strategy to drive efficiency and customer value added services
• All reports are provided within SLA. Escalation of potential issues in a timely manner
• Individual objectives as set out in appraisal are completed
• Improve operational and planning data/information through continuous improvement initiatives

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• High Level of Excel proficiency (complex formulas/pivot tables/macro development)
• Good communication skills at all levels
• Time management - strict adherence to deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
• Strong mathematical/statistical skills
• Desirable - Exposure to Oracle Transport Management (OTM)
• Desirable - Experience of data warehousing and database management
• Desirable - 1-3 Years Transport and Logistics industry experience
• Essential: GCSEs in Mathematics and English
