Job overview

The Cerner Operations team is recruiting a Data Corrections Manager, band 7. You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking ICT Department. Cerner Operations provides services and support to Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust staff using the Oracle Cerner EPR application.

Imperial are one of four Acute Trusts in North West London who are working together as an Acute Provider Collaborative to implement a shared suite of clinical and administrative applications. Cerner has already been implemented as the common EPR across the APC. This is exciting an opportunity for you to work with your colleagues at Chelsea & Westminster, London North West and Hillingdon, to deliver the North West London ICS Digital Strategy. The customer base consists of both clinical and non-clinical users with a wide range of applications requirements.

Cerner Operations has three main functions: Cerner Service provides a second level support service, resolving application issues and escalating to appropriate team where necessary. Cerner Data Corrections manages user system corrections for Imperial. Cerner Back Office manages business as usual PAS configuration changes including clinic templates, correspondence and ward locations across the entire domain (Imperial and Chelsea).

Support is shared across teams so that no one area of activity is dependent on a single member of staff; however different members of the team will specialise and lead on specific areas of functionality.

Main duties of the job

The Data Corrections manager will be responsible for the management of the Data Corrections team and the Trust Basic & Advanced configuration of the Trusts Cerner Suite of Applications across all domains. The role will be Trust facing working with key operational and clinical staff to ensure that the systems are configured to meet the Trust's needs, and the staff receive a world class service from ICT.
• Day to Day Administration/Management of the PAS/EPR Applications ensuring they are configured to meet the Trusts requirements
• Providing guidance and support to the Program Team, CPG's and Corporate Departments
• Develop and maintain efficient user-friendly standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitor & report on KPI's & SLA's and implement changes to improve the system
• Monitor suppliers against agreed SLA's
• Assist in the Design, Implement & Maintenance of the Cerner Service Catalogue
• Deputise for the Cerner Operations manager as required

  • Experience of PAS Application Support role
  • Experience of working in a highly integrated environment
  • Evidence of having created and implemented efficient, user-friendly processes and procedures
  • Evidence of having managed configuration change to systems
  • An excellent understanding of the patient journey and the key challenges Trust clinicians face with respect to use of systems
  • Knowledge of legislation regarding NHS Information Governance

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in an NHS Trust
  • Experience of Supporting Cerner Millennium

Communications Skills

Essential criteria

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good inter-personnel skills, demonstratable ability manage relationships with staff at all levels across the organisation
  • Able to explain complex technical issues to nontechnical staff and aid those staff to arrive at considered deacons
  • Must be able to maintain a professional manner & dialogue even under duress
  • Must maintain a positive outlook under pressure
