About the Job you are considering:
The Data Architect / Migration Consultant will serve as the technical owner of the data foundation layer. This role is responsible for end‑to‑end data architecture, identity design, ingestion engineering, and historical migration to support an enterprise‑grade marketing ecosystem anchored on AWS. The architect ensures data is discoverable, trusted, governed, stitched, activated, and production‑ready, supporting advanced segmentation, personalisation, and analytics use cases across digital estate.
The role demands strong depth in AWS data engineering, data modelling, XDM/identity design, migration frameworks, and MarTech activation patterns, along with hands‑on leadership in defining standards, enforcing data quality, and guiding distributed engineering teams.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role
- Own and evolve the MarTech data foundation across customer, behavioural, transactional, and marketing datasets.
- Drive end‑to‑end data discovery across systems of record, archives, batch/stream providers, and consuming platforms.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all data sources required for CDP and marketing activation use cases.
- Design scalable XDM schemas and implement a complete identity architecture with stitching and merge policies.
- Architect AWS‑native ingestion pipelines for batch, streaming, validation, lineage, and reconciliation.
- Integrate activation destinations while ensuring security, governance, compliance, and data‑ready exports.
- Lead historical and delta data migration with full traceability, checkpoints, and production‑cutover readiness.
- Define and operationalize data quality, observability, monitoring, and runbooks with measurable KPIs.
Your Skills:
- 10+ years in data architecture, engineering, or solution architecture.
- Deep expertise with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Kinesis, Redshift, EMR, Lambda, Lake Formation).
- Strong background in MarTech/CDP ecosystems, identity design, and activation frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience with historical migrations, delta loads, and streaming ingestion.
- Proficiency in schema modelling, profiling, lineage, mapping, and MDM‑style identity strategies.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and regulated environments.
- Excellent cross‑functional collaboration across marketing, analytics, engineering, and compliance teams.
- Bonus: Exposure to AEP/RTCDP/Marketo, consent management, and AI/ML for identity or anomaly detection.
