Job Description
The Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Director, Risk and Exposure is responsible for developing strategies, planning, coordinating, directing, and designing core functions, as well as providing oversight to projects and programs related to risk management functions with focus on exposure, accumulation, portfolio and capital management. The role is responsible to manage personnel, processes, and technology to measure and optimize the development of IT solutions through all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. The role provides expertise and perspective to the Vice President - Data and Analytics, and departmental leadership to the team on improvements to core technical processes. The role also provides input to IT vision and strategy and is responsible for the development and execution of unit tactical and strategic plans that are aligned with the overall IT Vision and Strategy.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develops strategies, plans, coordinates, directs, and designs core functions, as well as provides oversight to projects and programs.
- Develops risk and exposure solutions in support of business objectives
- Focus on Exposure Management, Accumulation, Portfolio analysis and Capital management solutions
- Develops internal solutions or leverages external software solutions to support risk functions
- Manages personnel, processes, and technology to measure and optimize the development of IT solutions through all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
- Leads the people, projects, and functions for an assigned IT unit and oversees the financial management of the unit, including the creation and adherence to the budget, budget planning, and forecasting/reporting on status.
- Provides expertise and perspective to the Vice President - Data and Analytics, and departmental leadership to the team on improvements to core IT processes.
- Develops and executes unit tactical and strategic plans that are aligned with the overall IT Vision and Strategy.
- Measures quality, timeliness, cost, resource utilization, and risk and provides an escalation point for both the assigned specific business groups and IT.
- Partners with IT and business leadership to identify, define, measure, and improve IT departmental service levels and identifies potential technology initiatives that are consistent with the corporate direction and enterprise architecture.
- Works with clients to develop proposals for design, development, and implementation of technology projects and provides input to the prioritization of corporate IT technology initiatives/projects.
- Builds and maintains respectful and trusting relationships with internal IT business partners, business stakeholders, and external relationships including technology vendors.
- Owns accountability for talent management and navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team including hiring, selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or commensurate experience. Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Expertise in risk based solutions such as Verisk Touchstone, RMS, Oasis, Analyze Re, Igloo, Tyche
- Expertise in 3rd party data in support of risk modeling - address verification, property attributes, peril scoring
- Expertise in a global property & casualty environment including knowledge on Lloyd's
