Role Description

As a Data Analyst within the Risk Actuarial Team, Second Line Risk Function, your role will be to carry out data processing for our quarterly processes of calculating regulatory capital and catastrophe exposure data preparation, and to carry out process automation and simplification within these process and their associated reporting.

This position is suitable for an ambitious, collaborative and enthusiastic candidate who is working in the area of Data Science.

Location: London, Guildford our Bournemouth

Salary Information

Salary: Circa 35 - 42k.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

You will support the Risk Actuarial team in carrying out data processing and process automation and simplification for a selection of the following activities, under general supervision:

  • Risk Capital Modelling Operations: Support the operating of the risk capital models, underpinning the calculation of the Company's Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) and Minimum Capital Requirement (MCR). Processing and checking inputs from first line risk owners to enable accurate production of regulatory capital requirement calculations and submissions to the regulator and Allianz Group for all relevant UK entities. Support the calibration of local model components.
  • Financial Risk Reporting: Support effective and timely risk management reporting to the business.
  • ORSA Process: Contribute to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process by supporting future capital requirement projections and stress and scenario testing production (including Natural and Man-Made Catastrophe modelling).
  • Exposure Management Support: Support the exposure management reporting and scenario analysis for Allianz UK to meet local and Group requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge and capability of market leading data processing and analytics tools e.g. R, SQL, Python, Power BI
  • Experience and knowledge of best practice data management, extraction, analysis, manipulation and database connectivity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative and enthusiastic team player.
  • Quick to learn and able to prioritise activities.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal).
  • Degree qualified or relevant experience
  • Data analytics experience within insurance or financial services.
