Job Title: Qualification, Certification & Verification Team Leader

Salary: £54793 + Depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a team of engineers responsible for discharging qualification, certification (safety) and verification activities, including: Generating qualification requirements – rig and flight test instructions and clearance advice, Performing safety analyses and generating safety documentation, Management of system problem assessments and investigations, & Support to aircraft configuration and verification activity
- Support the generation of clearance and safety documentation, ensuring quality and process adherence and providing engineering oversight
- Act as lead customer interface focal point for qualification and safety
- Interface into BAE and non-BAE EDR teams for clearance and problem investigations
- Support DASS SDR in responding to emergent technical issues and in management/reporting of overall team performance as part of DASS SDR leadership team
- Ensure the team remain current with Eurofighter QCV process and represent the DASS SDR in BAE/EF qualification forums
- Support team development and perform team PDRs
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent with relevant experience gained on an aircraft engineering project or related field, and experience of people management
- The ability to develop and present a range of complex data to a variety of stakeholders
- The ability to manage tasks across multiple contracts, balancing priorities and workload across a team
- The ability to identify and pro-actively resolve issues impacting Programmes, escalating any issues for resolution by exception
- A good understanding of the ‘V’ lifecycle and its application to the production of qualification requirements and aircraft certification and clearances
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems guided by policies, procedures and business plan
- Defence experience
Desirable:
- Experience in liaising and managing customer and supplier relationships

The DASS Team is a high-performing engineering group responsible for the Typhoon Defensive Aids Sub-System (DASS), playing a critical role in ensuring the aircraft’s survivability and operational effectiveness. Our team works at the forefront of qualification, certification, and verification, collaborating closely with subject matter experts to maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and safety.
As part of this team, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, including the wider DASS team, Airworthiness, Qualification & Certification, and the Technical Authority for DASS.
