Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare is excited to be advertising for a Children's Occupational Therapy Service Manager to join the trust in Brent.

You will provide sound leadership and day to day operational management of the children's OT service across community and mainstream schools, lead on service/clinical pathway development projects and work collaboratively with other clinical leaders within OT and the wider MDT network as well as the local authority and integrated care system.You will support the ongoing development of both clinical and leadership skills within the children's OT team.

There are exciting opportunities to lead on quality improvement and transformation projects within the service, supported by the trust's Quality Improvement Team with CPD opportunities to develop your own skills in these areas. The team are currently working on QI projects aimed at reducing health inequalities' and increasing parent/carer involvement in the CYP's care.

Main duties of the job

You will be based at Chalkhill Primary Centre in Wembley, working closely with colleagues from Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Children's Community Nursing and the paediatric medical team.You will be supported by the Clinical Service Manager for Specialist Services (SLT, OT, PT and the medical team) and the Head of Clinical Services for Brent Children as well the team leads for other children's services.

  • To provide strong clinical and professional leadership for the OT team in partnership with the other Service Managers to ensure that joint objectives are realised
  • The Service Manager will work collaboratively with the designated safeguarding nurse to ensure that systems are in place throughout the service for the protection of children.

  • Professional qualification in area of professional practice
  • Broad clinical experience relevant to the post
  • A proven track record of operational service management at a senior level in including staff management, financial management and change management.
  • Evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience to Masters level
  • Registration/Recorded with Professional body
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development with evidence

Desirable

  • A Masters level qualification or a post graduate qualification
  • Teaching qualification or experience
  • Demonstrate evidence of interest in research at degree or masters level
  • Post Registration Management Qualification
  • Post registration training/education /qualification in clinical supervision/ safeguarding supervision
