About the role
As a Customer Director within our National Security and Safety business unit, you will be the primary commercial lead for a portfolio of high-stakes accounts, driving growth by enabling government partners to supercharge their operations through AI. You will act as a strategic architect, building deep networks of influence and trusted relationships with senior stakeholders to solve complex safety challenges.
By bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI and mission-critical customer needs, you will achieve ambitious sales targets while overseeing cross-functional teams to ensure delivery excellence.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing strategy for the National Security sector to align account plans with broader business unit goals and the evolving safety needs of the UK.
- Driving revenue by acquiring new government partnerships and nurturing existing relationships to meet and exceed ambitious sales targets.
- Creating standout propositions by responding to RFPs and identifying strategic AI use cases that demonstrate long-term value to clients.
- Managing client relationships at the most senior levels, acting as the lead advisor for tier-one accounts and influencing the future shape of their work.
- Designing transformation programmes that blend sophisticated AI deployment with meaningful organisational change to support high-stakes decision-making.
- Overseeing commercial teams, including Senior Managers and Associates, to ensure project success and the professional development of your staff.
- Leading commercial negotiations and pricing proposals to ensure the successful onboarding and retention of critical national security accounts.
Who we're looking for:
- You have extensive National Security experience and a network to match, ideally combining a history in government with private sector AI build and delivery work.
- You possess a strong business development mindset and a proven track record of managing complex deal processes and achieving revenue targets.
- You are technical, and expert in AI, and can compellingly translate technical AI and data-oriented concepts into clear, actionable strategies for technical senior leaders.
- You are a proven leader of large, multidisciplinary teams that can command the respect of both technicians and delivery leads.
- You have the ability to think strategically about digital transformation, creating business plans that address the unique challenges of government departments.
- You demonstrate an entrepreneurial, proactive approach, with the agility to identify new opportunities and implement solutions across multiple high-stakes projects.
