We are currently looking to recruit Customer Care Representatives at our Waterford Customer Engagement Centre. Successful candidates will join at 95% of the established rate which is €14.68 per hour moving to €15.45 per hour after 12 months.
As a Customer Care Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for our customers and play a vital role in how we show up as Tesco. You'll use your knowledge, empathy, and problem‑solving skills to deliver the right solutions, helping customers quickly and confidently across a wide range of queries.
You'll be at the forefront of our Customer Engagement Centre, creating effortless experiences and living our values every day. This is a great opportunity to build strong customer service foundations, grow your skills, and contribute to delivering our purpose.
As business needs can change, daily start and finish times may vary, and a level of flexibility will be required.

You will be responsible for
- Taking ownership of customer issues and delivering appropriate solutions with confidence and care.
- Using our "Every Little Help Makes a Big Difference" skills to engage, understand, act and complete each customer interaction.
- Role‑modelling Tesco values and demonstrating integrity in every decision and conversation.
- Understanding how your work contributes to key performance metrics and delivering against your personal objectives.
- Participating in everyday conversations with your Team Leader, including recognition, check‑ins, navigation and personal development planning.
- Raising opportunities to improve processes, remove barriers, and embrace positive change.
- Following all Tesco policies including Supporting Your Performance, Time Off, Sickness Absence and schedule adherence.
- Sharing knowledge openly with peers and supporting a collaborative team environment.
- Working effectively with Team Leaders, Operations Managers, colleagues across departments, stores and relevant third parties to resolve customer queries.
You will need
Operational & Customer Skills
- A strong customer service orientation and passion for helping people.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Confidence in handling complaints with empathy, patience and sound judgement.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast‑changing environment.
- A responsible, reliable and solutions‑focused approach.
Experience & Knowledge
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Strong IT literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
