Role: Curriculum Developer (AI)
Team: Product
Package: Pension, Unlimited Leave, Flexible Working
Location: Remote (occasional face-to-face meetings as required)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (in part or in full, the role will transition into a coaching role upon completion of the initial curriculum development)
The Role:
Join us as a Curriculum Developer and play a pivotal role in building our brand-new Level 4 AI Automation apprenticeship. As a key member of the curriculum team, you will have a significant influence on creating a market-leading learning experience from the ground up.
Your initial focus will be on developing engaging and impactful content for the AI Automation programme, with an emphasis on the Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot ecosystem. This programme goes beyond traditional automation - you'll be teaching learners to build AI systems that can work autonomously, using no-code visual platforms that make AI accessible to business users without programming skills.
Working closely with our Product Team and subject matter experts, you'll apply your practical experience to create inspiring e-learning materials and interactive workshops. You will help translate the apprenticeship standard into a practical, effective, and exceptional learning journey for our apprentices, with opportunities to explore other platforms like Google Dialogflow, AppSheet, Zapier, and more as the curriculum evolves.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to shape a flagship programme, ensuring that learners are equipped with outstanding resources that deliver real-world impact and fully prepare them for their End-Point Assessment (EPA). Once the core curriculum is developed, this role is expected to transition (in part or in full) into a coaching position, delivering the programme you helped create.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Product Team and subject matter experts to develop high-quality, interactive, and engaging content for the Level 4 AI Automation programme.
- Create innovative digital learning materials, including e-learning modules, assessments, videos, and templates, ensuring a high standard of learner experience.
- Design and structure practical workshops that integrate real-world scenarios and best practices, focusing on no/low-code platforms, process automation, and the business application of AI including autonomous systems.
- Develop content on prompt engineering and visual configuration of AI systems, enabling learners to build sophisticated solutions without coding.
- Create materials that teach learners to progress from simple automation to more autonomous AI applications.
- Ensure content is accessible to business users without technical backgrounds, democratising AI across organisations.
- Develop and maintain core programme documentation, including curriculum structures and supporting materials for learners and Coaches.
- Ensure all learning content is aligned with the apprenticeship standard and supports successful End-Point Assessment outcomes.
- Assist in designing and delivering training and resources to empower our Coaches to deliver the programme with excellence.
- Regularly refine and enhance training materials based on feedback from Coaches, learners, and industry developments.
- Support the team in work on other programmes, according to business need.
About You:
Essential:
- Strong understanding of agentic AI and autonomous AI systems - what makes AI capable of independent action vs simple automation, with hands-on experience building AI agents using no/low-code platforms.
- Practical experience with platforms like Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Zapier AI features, or similar tools for building conversational agents and autonomous workflows.
- Experience building AI agents, chatbots, or virtual assistants using visual configuration tools, not programming - understanding the progression from rule-based automation to goal-directed autonomous systems.
- Expert-level prompt engineering skills and ability to teach this to non-technical users as the key to controlling AI behaviour.
- Understanding of agent architectures: how AI systems can be configured to have goals, make decisions, take actions, and operate with appropriate autonomy.
- Experience in creating high-quality, interactive e-learning and curriculum content for a technical or professional skills audience, with ability to make complex concepts accessible to non-technical learners.
- Demonstrable experience in facilitating interactive workshops or training sessions.
- Knowledge of when to use agentic AI vs traditional automation and ability to teach these decision criteria.
- The ability to learn new technical subjects quickly and translate them into effective, accessible learning content.
- Experience delivering or preparing learners for End-Point Assessments (EPA).
- Excellent writing, editing, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks across a project.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working with diverse internal teams.
Desirable:
- Experience with multi-agent systems and orchestrating multiple AI agents to work together.
- Knowledge of AI agent memory systems, context management, and goal decomposition.
- Understanding of human-AI collaboration models and appropriate oversight mechanisms for autonomous systems.
- Background in citizen developer programmes or enabling business users to build their own solutions.
- Experience transitioning from RPA to more sophisticated AI automation.
- Familiarity with open-source agent frameworks and their no-code implementations.
- A teaching or coaching qualification.
- Experience within the apprenticeship or vocational training sectors.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform or Azure AI certifications).
- Experience as a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).
- A broader interest in technology and data, such as data analytics, software development, or cloud computing.
