maintenance and support services in the built environment, working in partnership with some of the UK and
Europe's best-known companies. We are a Currently hiring for the pivotal position of a Data Centre Operations
Manager for a new customer in a busy campus within the Slough area.
CBRE manages the maintenance of main UK Data Centre and is committed to the provision of an efficient and
effective critical engineering maintenance service. The primary function is to ensure 100% uptime of engineering
services to ensure there is zero impact to the client's business operations.
Main purpose
To provide direction and leadership of the CBRE Building Team and Contractors, for the effective management of
the maintenance of premises, plant and equipment for the Data Centre.
The candidate will be the clients' focal
point for all works happening withing the data centre for which they are looking after and will therefore need a
sound understanding of the engineering, contractual and compliance requirements associated within a hyperscale
data centre.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the client relationship and ensure a high level of service, attending client meetings
- where required.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of Engineers, contractors and Visitors to Site.
- Work closely with the Contract Support Team to ensure that the service levels are maintained to a
- consistently high level.
- Ensuring business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the
- contract.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, client and CBRE health, safety and environmental programmes.
- Provide effective solutions to development, training, and performance management.
- Provide technical support across a wide spectrum of Services, to the CBRE team and client.
- Ensure service line KPIs are met and reported on a monthly basis.
- Provide leadership, ensuring that contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
- Ensure service delivery is in line with agreed SLAs.
- Prepare data for monthly Operational Reviews
- Promote continuous improvement throughout the team.
- Provide solutions and associated quotations for small project works.
- Identify potential business opportunities across The Data Centre
- Ownership for engineering activities within the Data Centre
- Responsible for ensuring Maintenance regimes planned and implemented.
- Responsible for Ensuring statutory and CBRE required logs are kept up to date and correct.
- Oversee PPM Reactive and Corrective planning and execution for site.
- Disciplinary and Conflict Management.
- Promotion of Health and safety and strong team cultures.
- Form Part of the Escalation chain for any unforeseen incidents and site issues, in and out of hours -
- providing technical support and leadership.
- Undertake other tasks, as required by the Technical Manager, in accordance with experience and
- competencies.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:
- 100% Statutory compliance across all relevant service lines.
- Work closely with Contract Support & Engineering Supervisor to ensure there are no gaps in service
- delivery.
- Manage service line tracker documents to ensure actions are closed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- No statutory compliance PPMs are missed as a result of CBRE planning.
- Produce monthly reports in-line with contract governance scorecard requirements.
- Manage CMMS system.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of Engineers, contractors and Visitors to Site.
- Responsible for the fast and effective procurement of materials and services. Financial Management -Full
- ownership of P&L, Debt and WIP.
- Responsible for ensuring Engineers have the correct Onboarding, Tools, PPE.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate contract review, audit and control systems to ensure statutory,
- policy and contractual commitments are met.
- Internal Audits of QHSE, Compliance, Technical Literature.
- Responsible for ensuring QHSE bulletins, safety talks and updates are delivered and implemented.
- Accountable for auditing Logbooks for site.
- Lead cultural change on a daily basis, through being an effective role model for safe working practices,
- compliance, quality standards and best practice methods.
- Positive contribution to the "team" effort, with a "can do" attitude and raising of standards.
Selection criteria:
- Strong Data Centre Engineering Background Required
- Financial Experience preferred.
- Compliance Experience Required.
- Strong customer focus, promotes team spirit, boosts morale and who subscribes to the Company RISE
- values.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and professional, attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Competent working knowledge of Microsoft packages (e.g. Excel, Word).
- A career showing strong personal development is preferred.
- Management / Supervisory Experience Essential
- Delivery of wider facilities management preferred alongside engineering (Soft Services)
- Critical Works knowledge and planning Essential.
- Engineering Qualification within a relevant subject (M&E) essential.
