Job Description

The Visa Europe Credit & Settlement Risk (CSR) team is responsible for proactively assessing and mitigating credit risks faced by Visa Europe as part of operating one of the world's largest payment networks. The team predominantly manages settlement risks related to corporates and financial institutions, across a large portfolio that requires risk-based prioritisation and an appreciation of balancing risks against reward.

This newly created Portfolio Manager role sits within CSR's Portfolio & Strategy function and will support the wider team in the running of a robust credit risk management framework, leveraging a combination of their credit risk knowledge and data analysis skills. The role will work closely with CSR analysts and managers as part of understanding any key client developments that affect portfolio trends, using data to drive portfolio level risk management, and supporting on strategic initiatives to drive day to day efficiencies.

What we expect of you, day to day

  • Adhering to the CSR Framework, procedures, policy standards and controls.
  • Responsibility for building and running portfolio reporting and dashboards for senior stakeholders on credit and settlement risks in Europe, including:
    • Driving and evolving reports to maximise value-add and data driven insights
    • Ability to succinctly highlight key messages around portfolio trends, helping senior stakeholders to understand core drivers of these
    • Ability to recommend tangible actions where appropriate, in response to identified trends
    • Coordinating and supporting the Global CSR team where required to align on reporting approaches
  • Supporting processes to enhance efficiencies around Visa Europe's credit risk controls, including:
    • Identifying and driving automation and systemisation opportunities
    • Supporting analysis of key credit risk metrics and data, and credit rating model performance
  • Supporting the wider members of the team with overflows in workload from time to time
  • Supporting strategic initiatives that arise, including CSR specific project work as well as CSR input into wider organisational projects
  • Supporting regulatory and internal audit requirements
  • Supporting any other ad hoc duties as required by the CSR Senior Leadership Team

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Self-driven individual with strong attention to detail, a can-do attitude, and a thirst to drive efficiencies.
  • Strong data manipulation skillset. Strong Excel skills are a must and good SQL knowledge would be beneficial. Good Power Point skills preferred.
  • A good understanding of wholesale credit risks and/or the payments industry is very beneficials, but smart individuals with a general finance services background and strong ability to adapt will also be suitable.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills; ability to meet deadlines is a must.
  • Strong written ability to concisely convey key portfolios trends us required.
