Department Overview:
Fitch's European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions. Fitch currently rates Structured Finance transactions across four main asset classes: Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities, and Structured Credit. Fitch Ratings maintains surveillance on over 1,500 European structured finance transactions.

We'll Count on You To:
- Implement cash flow modelling
- Review transaction legal documents
- Conduct on-site reviews of underwriting and servicing practices of originators
- Prepare rating proposals for presentation to internal rating committees
- Communicate rating rationale to investors and other market participants through presale reports, presentations, research and meetings
- Communicate with transaction arrangers and originators to understand asset characteristics and structural features of the transactions and
- Support in the development of criteria and supporting research.
What You Need to Have:
- High motivation with a strong desire to perform credit analysis
- Be highly numerate and analytical, with a high level of proficiency in using Excel (candidates will be asked to complete an Excel test)
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to review, understand and analyse legal transaction documents from a credit risk perspective (no formal legal experience required)
- Analytical thinker who can apply methodologies appropriately and insightfully in reaching structured decisions. A later stage of the interview process will feature a case study.
- Team player who can work collaboratively as part of a multi-cultural team with members in multiple locations
- Strong attention to detail
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Relevant experience in credit analysis acquired at, for example, an accountancy firm, bank, consultancy, rating agency, specialist lender or trustee.
- Ideally direct experience in securitisation or origination of consumer assets (auto leases / loans, unsecured loans, credit card receivables)
- Other backgrounds will be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate sufficient aptitude in the behaviours and skills detailed herein with clear motivation to work in Structured Finance at Fitch Ratings
- Intellectually curious and inquisitive, with a willingness to challenge precedent
- Fluency in other European languages
- Strong organisational skills in completing and prioritising work
