Salary : Base salary: £38,550- £45,350 depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

This role is responsible for end-to-end project management of HS2's corporate publications programme. HS2's corporate publications support the delivery of the railway - building confidence in the organisation, demonstrating transparency, and showcasing progress on the project.

You will work closely with internal clients to fully understand their communications requirements and transform them into engaging, insight-based, on-brand corporate reports across print and digital channels.

This will involve project management of the end-to-end administrative process for a range of documents such as the Corporate Plan, Annual Report and Accounts, and Environmental Reports.

From developing the scope and agreeing the critical path, approval and sign-off process for each project, to sourcing content and commissioning editorial and creative services from in-house and external specialists, you will have overall responsibility for managing the delivery of the publications programme.

About the role:

Under the direction of the Head of Marketing Communications, and reporting to the Senior Brand and Creative Lead you will oversee the production of corporate reports, and their publication across print and digital channels, ensuring all projects are accurate, timely, delivered on budget and aligned with the company's goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• The end-to-end project management and delivery of high-quality, on-brand corporate publications, including the creation of a concise project plan for each document, including timelines, milestones, resources, production and budgets.

• Managing liaison with internal clients on behalf of the Brand and Creative team, including providing advice and guidance on the best way to meet their requirements.

• Commissioning editorial, design, and print services to deliver corporate publications from external suppliers and/or a small in-house team This includes establishing the most effective means of creative execution and delivery between internal and external resources and negotiating quotes and timescales when required.

• Helping to collate, curate and coordinate content for individual publications, as required.

• Coordinating the writing, editing, and review process for each publication to maintain accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

• Supporting the governance and approval process for the production of statutory reports, such as contributing to Board and Executive papers, as required.

• Ensuring publications meet relevant HS2 guidelines and accessibility standards for both digital and print.

• Facilitating the effective publication and promotion of corporate reports across all relevant channels - including the commissioning of supporting content and liaising with other teams, as required.

• Managing fast-turn around requests and approaches at short notice and to tight deadlines when appropriate.

• Building strong stakeholder relationships with colleagues, helping them to access the best support from the Directorate, and working with them collaboratively to ensure best practice in corporate reporting.

• Occasionally managing the production of additional types of creative content across a range of communications channels to support wider external affairs priorities, unrelated to corporate publications.

• Actively promoting and embedding Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You:

Skills:

. • Client management skills - ability to negotiate with contributors and clients to agree objectives, timelines and costs and to secure approval and sign-off at all levels.

• Project management skills - ability to organise and manage complex projects and production schedules to strict budgets and deadlines while ensuring quality control throughout.

• Communication skills - ability to work with editorial specialists on corporate publications, as well as directly draft, edit and proof-read copy, scripts, and digital content where needed, on other projects.

• Research skills, including the ability to identify, collate and curate pertinent information and assure its accuracy.

• Influencing and stakeholder management skills - ability to influence internal and external contacts at all levels.

• Ambassadorial skills - ability to act as a brand ambassador for HS2 (including representing HS2 externally where required).

• Ability to grasp complex information quickly and translate into accessible communications.

• Ability to use insights from opinion research and apply to creative work

• Ability to develop audience-led content across a range of communications channels, including stakeholder-focused corporate publications.

• Advisory skills - including giving communications advice to senior managers and the ability to advise others on the creative process and timeframes for work.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge and up-to-date awareness of best practice corporate publications production across print and digital.

• Knowledge of how print, digital and social media channels should tell a coherent integrated story, appropriately tailored to their audience.

• Knowledge of how diverse audiences can be successfully engaged using a blend of channels. • Knowledge of marketing communications and delivering creative promotions and corporate communications content.

• Understanding of how messages and strategic communications are informed by survey, polling and focus group data.

• Knowledge of software commonly used in creative, design and project management processes, specifically Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Type of experience:

• Experience of high-level corporate reporting for large, complex organisations.

• Experience of managing multiple projects and production schedules.

• Experience of working in virtual teams of both creative and operational staff in a high volume and high-quality production environment.

• Experience of working with print and production teams, and an awareness of artwork/repro/print/film production/finishing digital processes.

• Experience of working in a confidential environment.

• Experience of working as part of an in-house corporate communications team.

• Experience of working on infrastructure projects or with public sector bodies or clients.

• Experience of providing creative communications advice at a senior leadership level across an organisation.

• Experience of managing external suppliers (e.g creative agencies) and working with budgets
