Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be pivotal to the optimisation of research participant engagement and recruitment, and serve as the external representative for the CRDC UK Network in all communications, inclusion and engagement-related activities, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring high-quality and equitable access and engagement across the Network.

You will lead, coordinate and deliver research participation, inclusion and engagement activities across the CDRC Network as part of the Network Operational Management Team, working closely with the Strategic and Operational Program Managers and oversee all participation, inclusion and engagement aspects to ensure CRDC UK Network objectives are met.

Although predominantly remote working, it is anticipated that the postholder will travel to the Network host and CRDC sites (or their partner institutions), and regular travel to Network in-person meetings will be expected and supported.

Essential criteria

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification/equivalent level of experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Relevant professional and/or management qualification/experience*

Desirable criteria

  • Master's Degree in relevant subject

Essential criteria

  • High level communicator with ability to appraise and adapt to audience needs

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Significant clinical trials experience with at least 5 years in a role which has included delivery of strategies for:
  • PPIEP
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Meeting targets and delivering an efficient service
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive information
  • Communications, marketing and events for health research

Analytical and Judgement skills

Essential criteria

  • Awareness and understanding of national policy concerning health research participation and developments concerning national plans and targets
  • Demonstrate professional judgement in the communication of sensitive and emotive subjects
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting and record keeping
  • Use analytical and problemsolving skills to apply to own practice
  • Demonstrate high level negotiation and leadership skills

Desirable criteria

  • Relevant knowledge of current diversity, data protection, and health and safety legislation including that related to commercial trials

Skills

Essential criteria

  • IT skills including use of the internet, word -processing, spreadsheets and data bases with experience of manipulating data
  • Travel to work in a variety of settings and able to access transport for national meetings and visits
  • Manage and deliver in - person and virtual meetings

Planning and organisation skills

Essential criteria

  • Computer literate and able to use digital tools and systems for data monitoring and management
  • Drive efficient delivery of workload to tight timescales and under pressure
  • Adaptability and resilience in adversity
  • Can prioritise workload and is flexible, and able to develop these skills in others
  • Vision and commitment to new ways of working and healthcare delivery

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
