  • Suffolk County Council - Endeavour House, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2BX / Hybrid
  • £38,223 per annum (pro rata if part time)
  • 37 hours per week, Flexible working options available
  • Permanent

Your role and responsibilities

A Suffolk Joint Emergency Planning Unit exists to help Suffolk local authorities prepare for emergencies. You will assist Suffolk County Council meet their statutory duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 by helping develop contingency arrangements, delivering training and exercises and maintaining emergency equipment and infrastructure.

You will need:

  • experience of crisis management,
  • a detailed knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act
  • a sound understanding of how local government works
  • sound interpersonal skills
  • able to evidence professional competence in emergency preparedness and management.
