Corporate Communications Manager - Thought Leadership

Job Description

Nokia is searching for an experienced communications professional to work with other Corporate Affairs teams to develop and implement multi-disciplinary thought leadership campaigns that reinforce our position as a leading B2B technology company and advance our strategic business goals. These campaigns will include, but are not limited to, Nokia's brand positioning and Sustainability positioning to achieve its stated ambition to develop ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) into a competitive advantage.

The role holder will work closely with Nokia's Brand team and Sustainability team to ensure the right insights and impactful narratives are developed to resonate with the media and other stakeholders. The role holder will be responsible for creating the media outreach plans and generating relevant coverage on these topics. They should have strong written skills and a great understanding of the global media landscape. The role holder will also enjoy crafting engaging content for internal audiences.

This role reports to the Global Head of External Communications and will suit a senior communications professional who understands how thought leadership fits into Nokia's strategic positioning as an innovative industry leader. The successful candidate will have solid experience of driving brand communications and understand how to deliver thought leadership with measurable results, strong writing skills, good editorial judgment as well as the ability to leverage opportunities to generate awareness, news coverage and internal engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the wider Corporate Affairs team to develop Brand and Sustainability communications plans and materials that will resonate with the media and drive Nokia's strategic ambitions.
  • Work across CA to deliver material that will create Nokia brand advocates
  • Coordinate and maximize the impact of our thought leadership content
  • Utilize data to create engaging content and collaborate with internal subject matter experts to distil complex concepts into accessible and engaging content
  • Ensure our media key messages for Brand campaigns and Sustainability campaigns are clearly articulated and available for Nokia spokespeople
  • Identify emerging trends and issues, positioning Nokia as a go-to source for expert analysis and commentary
  • Build and maintain a strong network across all levels of the organization in order to elevate our thought leadership for internal and external opportunities
  • Work with our Data and Analytics team to monitor and measure success
  • In addition, support the wider corporate communications projects and tasks, such as producing briefing books, managing media relations and helping with quarterly communications messaging

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and delivering brand communications, particularly ongoing campaigns for media.
  • Excellent written and communications skills, including in-depth understanding of target audiences, and expertise in high impact messaging
  • Strong media relationships and demonstrable ability to generate relevant coverage
  • Experience in social and influence as channels to drive media engagement
  • Ability to process complex information and turn difficult concepts into impactful messaging
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix and geographically diverse business model within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience in managing agency relationships, providing direction, project management and performance reviews
  • Experience in managing diverse activities, meet deadlines, and flexibility to changing situations and priorities
  • Practiced in developing working relationships and networks at all levels, with high impact and influence in a collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to measure and assess media and communication impact, return on investment and make recommendations based on predictive analytics
