Job Description

Nokia is searching for an experienced corporate communications professional to join our global team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Nokia's corporate narrative - to help protect, build, and enhance Nokia's corporate positioning as a B2B technology innovation leader.

Reporting to the Global Head of External Communications, the post holder will work closely with the wider Corporate Affairs team, Investor Relations, Finance, Legal, and other key parts of the business to cultivate and disseminate impactful content for key stakeholders and ensure clarity and consistency. The successful candidate will be part of the team that delivers our quarterly financial updates and other core corporate activities as well as crisis and issues management.

The post holder will be required to work across a range of projects simultaneously and arm teams and top leadership with key messaging, press releases, talking points and presentations. The ideal candidate will have solid experience of managing corporate reputation, financial communications and running complex, integrated communications programs that deliver measurable results. This role requires an excellent understanding of the changing global media landscape and the ability to secure media coverage of the highest quality. The role holder should also have a good understanding of how their narratives can be drafted to engage other audiences such as employees and be a strong writer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, draft and implement Nokia's corporate narrative to media and other key audiences
  • Lead on financial communications
  • Lead on developing and implementing communications plans for corporate business decision, including any potential M&A or divestments
  • Work with the external comms team and other teams across CA and Nokia to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to drive Nokia's corporate reputation and reinforce Nokia's position as an innovative industry leader and advances the company's strategic business goals
  • Draft excellent quality materials for campaigns and projects such as, but not limited to, plans, key messages, press releases, Q&A documents
  • Collaborate with the broader Corporate Affairs, CFO and Legal teams, including Sustainability, Investor Relations, Government Affairs and Employee Engagement to ensure consistency of messaging and impact
  • Maintain a document library of key messages, executive briefs, and stakeholder landscape mapping
  • Play a pivotal role in crisis preparedness and issues management
  • Build and maintain a strong network across all levels of the organization in order to support both reactive and proactive reputation management for internal and external opportunities
  • Work with our Data and Analytics team to monitor and measure success and predict and prepare for stories or themes that might impact our business

Qualifications

  • Strategic communications professional with extensive experience of drafting corporate narratives, crisis management, financial communications and media relations
  • Strong understanding of other key audiences and how communications impact them
  • Excellent written and communications skills, including in-depth understanding of target audiences, and expertise in high impact messaging
  • Experience of leading communications through M&A or divestments
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix and geographically diverse business model within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Track record of delivering efficient communication plans
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and consistently meet budget and deadlines
  • Practiced in developing working relationships and networks at all levels, with high impact and influence in a collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies
  • Experience in managing agency relationships, providing direction, project management and performance reviews
