Cook Volunteer
Location: Sittingbourne (Kent)
Time Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week or every other week
We are looking for someone to come in and lead creative cooking sessions for the people we support so they can taste, smell and decorate different cuisines from around the world . It could be anything from making and decorating biscuits to making something for dinner or being creative with smells, textures and colour to make these sessions fun and varied.
If you have a passion for food and enjoy helping others, this is the role for you!
Skills required
- To be passionate about food and confident using culinary equipment
- A food hygiene qualification would be beneficial, but can provide training if required
- To be able to communicate well, be friendly and kind
- To be punctual and reliable
- To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures

To ensure the safety of the people we support, we will require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training which is specific to the role.

We specialise in supporting people who have learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, who may also have sight loss.
