We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Operations Team as a Control Manager based at Romford ROC.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive individual who wants to stretch themselves with a new challenge leading the GA Control team within the Anglia Integrated Control Centre (AICC) on a day to day basis.

You will be responsible for overseeing service delivery activities, competency assessments and control performance budgets, as well as monitoring rosters and sickness levels.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the safe operation of the Greater Anglia train service through leading effective management processes in the AICC for the benefit of our customer's experience, ensuring that we deliver a safe and punctual railway.

You will lead and motivate a team on shift to meet rigorous service delivery targets and liaise at all levels across the business on issues related to train service delivery, operational performance and customer information. You will also be expected to work jointly with Network Rail and other train operating companies to the benefit of industry customers.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a colleague with a good standard of general education and be IT literate, with experience of managing both teams and individuals, and of improving their performance. You will be customer focused and understand the information requirements, particularly during periods of service disruption, as well as being well organised and able to prioritise workloads, with the ability to cope well under pressure and the requirement to make decisions quickly.

You will need experience and knowledge of the operational railway in regard to process and procedures is required for this role and you will be required to demonstrate this at interview.

You will need to be a confident individual as you will be communicating with Greater Anglia colleagues at all levels while chairing conference calls during disruption, as well as representing Greater Anglia while attending external partner conferences.

We currently operate a 2-shift system of day and night turns based on a 37 hour week for this role. Sundays are outside of the working week but there is a commitment to work rostered Sundays for which remuneration will be paid.
