Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts & Claims Manager (Senior/Associate/Director Grade) to join our busy and expanding Energy & Natural Resources Team, who are undertaking a range of Contract and claim management roles on high-profile Projects/Programmes across the UK. Additionally, these roles will provide the opportunity to collaborate and learn from our experienced contract management team.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Be part of claims and commercial management team and provide commercial support to a number of global projects in the form of assurance reviews and advise on contractual and claims related matters
- Support development and assurance of Project Contracting and Package strategies through gaming and peer reviews.
- Ensure that Company governance process is adhered with prior to exeution of Contract/Notice to proceed.
- Manage execution of the Conditions Precedent and Notice to Proceed
- Provide pre and post contract training to project teams to support tender process, tender evaluation and contract administration.
- Ensure that the Contractor complies with its contractual obligations under the Contract
- Maintain transparent and comprehensive records of commercial / contractual correspondence, commercial meetings, Variations, instructions and other Reports
- Work closely alongside the project team guiding and advising on any contractual and or commercial issues
- Comply with CIDAC reporting requirements
- Manage Early Warning notices and Variations
- Manage Employer rights to claim
- Manage claims from Contractor
- Manage back-charges / rights to set off
- Ratify payment to the Contractor and or withholding of payment
- Ensure that all contractual and commercial matters are closed-out
Qualifications
Skills and behaviours
- Ability to work both pre and post contract award and to be able to conduct assurance reviews and provide subject matter advise on contractual and claims related matters
- Ability to quickly demonstrate competency to stakeholders and develop working relationships to have honest communication about the issues at hand
- Ability to work with Senior Management / Leadership members, guiding, mentoring and driving best practices within a complex project/programme environment.
- Ability to lead a team, and implement best practice contract management processes on complex projects/programmes
- Excellent communicator, (both written and verbal), to liaise with the client, contractors, and designers.
- Works to make positive change happen by embracing challenges and opportunities for our clients.
- Effectively connects and communicates with people to collaborate to deliver our best work.
- Brings out the best in everyone by helping each other making the most of their potential through proactive collaboration and effective teamworking.
- A UK driving license or the ability to travel to client sites across the region, as required, is essential.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong contract management and claims management experience gained via supporting global projects both pre and post contract award
- Proven track record of delivery across multi-cultured operating models
- Experience in managing Stakeholders at all levels.
