An innovative Contract Operations Manager responsible for all aspects of operational delivery of Highways and Street Lighting Contract. You will support with work winning in operational solutions development for current and future Highways tenders.
What you'll be doing
Operations:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all functions, Health and Safety specifically, embedding a culture of Zero Harm.
- Implementing a defined area of the contract P&L and balance sheet with responsibility if implementing the Divisional business plan within this area.
- Lead, review and challenge budgets and forecasts to ensure consistent, challenging but deliverable approach is adopted.
- Manage performance of Capital and Revenue areas to ensure performance meets set targets.
- Ensure and improve the delivery of service excellence across the account through maximising efficiency and effectiveness, actively sharing best practice and seeking opportunities for profit improvement.
Work Winning:
- Lead on the development of operational solutions for tenders.
- Support with mobilisation of operational activities for new contracts.
Strategy:
- Develop effective working relationships with the wider Balfour Beatty group, business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors to improve operational performance.
- Ensure the Operational business area is robust reference sites for bids.
Customer/Market:
- Understand, anticipate and delivery client requirements.
- Support and implement a culture of customer centricity.
Pipeline/Organisation:
- Maintain a framework for performance management, succession planning and the development of people in the sector.
- Manage supply chain to deliver a service excellence and profitability.
- Create a culture within the Operational team based on pride and ownership.
- Ensure all staff are developed and trained appropriately to carry out their work to the required standard.
Who we're looking for
- Previous contract management experience of contracts with an annual value of 20m+
- Operational or technical experience.
- Highly motivated to delivery customer satisfaction.
- Self-motivated to achieve a high level of performance.
- Demonstrate leadership skills that will inspire the team to succeed.
- Good financial acumen with a proven knowledge of budgetary control and profit & Loss accounts.
- Understanding and experience of risk assessment/management.
- Demonstrate an ability to successfully lead an operational team.
- Commercial Awareness - understanding cost of doing business, SLAs and KPI.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable to changing situations.
