As a Contract Manager, you will support our Commercial and Procurement Manager in shaping and embedding our contract management approach. You will play a crucial role in ensuring consistency across the Council to achieve the best outcomes and value for money. You will manage the Contract Support Officer and work closely with various stakeholders to monitor and report on contract compliance and performance.

As part of the newly formed Contract Management team, you will proactively manage procurement spending. Key objectives for this team are to:

  • Work in a dynamic manner to identify and support delivery of improvements and savings.
  • Support development and implementation of an LCC-wide Contract Management Strategy and provide training to support other services.
  • Support the implementation of technology to improve contract reporting.
  • Support strategic contract management activity across LCC at key stages in the contracting lifecycle.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree or relevant professional qualification with significant experience in contract management.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract management and public sector procurement regulations
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills to ensure value for money is consistently obtained.
  • Proven experience in developing contract management strategies, frameworks, and guidelines; monitoring and reporting on contract compliance and performance, preferably in the public sector.
