Content Manager - UK - 472
This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
Job Description
Business Area: Marketing & Communications
Reporting to: Head of Content Marketing
Job title: Content Manager - FTC (12-months)
Who we're looking for
You'll be a dynamic content marketer with proven experience in delivering campaign-oriented content targeting specific audiences. You will be able to work autonomously but will be a team player, strongly connected with the other areas of marketing, and with demonstrable experience of content creation and its planned distribution. Customer journeys are increasingly complex: you will be able to deploy the right message through the right channel at the right time.
You will have a sound understanding of public and private markets and products. You will also be familiar with developments in the "democratisation" of private assets in the UK and elsewhere, for example in terms of product development and regulations.
You should understand major client segments and their needs to be able to produce content that resonates. Our major client groups include financial intermediaries and end investors in the wealth segment; pensions vehicles; insurers and long-term asset owners such as family offices, endowments and sovereign wealth funds.
About Schroders
We're a global investment manager. We help institutions, intermediaries and individuals around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future.
We have around 6,000 people on six continents. And we've been around for over 200 years but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn't change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.
The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.
The team
Schroders' award-winning content and the team behind it has been built over many years. We have recruited talent from a range of backgrounds and invested heavily in the technology needed to deliver exceptional multi-media content created mainly in London, but distributed to our sites around the world and in many cases translated into dozens of languages.
Our focus is now on tailoring content to better meet different clients' needs. This also means distributing it in more effective, planned campaigns in formats (and at times) that suit them.
To facilitate this new focus, Content Marketing now sits within Proposition and Product Marketing. The combined function has recently adopted a new target operating model, with a focus on strategic activities like planning, journey orchestration and creative experimentation.
Our content is the foundation of our Intent-based Marketing approach, where the content a customer engages with is based on current needs rather than past engagements. A connected, cross-functional approach that puts the customer first is key to improving customer experiences.
What you'll do
As Content Manager you will be part of a team responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content marketing strategy to promote priority products and solutions to our target audiences and position our firm as a thought leader in these markets.
You will collaborate with Schroders' investment professionals, analysts, product strategists and other marketing disciplines in the central team in London and in the regional offices.
This is a 12-month FTC opportunity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement a content marketing strategy that aligns with Schroders' marketing objectives and resonates with our target audience.
- Collaborate with investment professionals, research analysts, and subject matter experts to understand our equity investment strategies, market trends, and investment themes, and translate them into compelling content.
- Lead the creation of high-quality content across various formats, including articles, reports, market commentaries, videos, podcast and infographics. You may be solely responsible for producing certain pieces; or you may be contributing to part of a project (e.g. helping brief infographics or writing scripts for video).
- Ensure content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with brand guidelines and messaging.
- Optimise content for search engines (SEO) to improve organic visibility and drive traffic to our digital properties.
- Work with colleagues in Digital to understand our automation platforms and CRM systems through which we distribute content and track engagement metrics.
- Understand the full range of outlets for our content including our websites, social media, email marketing and placed content opportunities paid-for and placed as part of our PR strategy.
- Analyse content performance data to measure the effectiveness of content marketing efforts, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices in content marketing and apply them to enhance our equities-focused content initiatives.
- Collaborate with external agencies and vendors as needed to support content creation and distribution efforts.
- Take a strong interest in markets, competitors' activities, regulatory developments and other newsflow to identify content opportunities and stay at the forefront of market developments especially where they relate to priority products and evolving innovations including the democratisation of private assets, active ETFs, tokenisation, among others.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in content marketing, preferably within the asset management or financial services industry with a focus on equities.
- Strong knowledge of private investment strategies, market dynamics, and industry trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex investment concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and executing successful content marketing campaigns.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal stakeholders.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and the ability to optimize content for search engines.
- Proficiency in content management systems, marketing automation platforms, and analytics tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations in the financial services industry.
What you'll be like
- Enthusiastic, and collaborative.
- Comfortable working in a complex organisation where there may be competing demands on your time.
- Adaptable and comfortable with change
- Proactive and ready to solve problems
