Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Honours degree or equivalent in Medical, Biological or Physical Sciences (1st or 2.1)
• Full Accredita-tion/Fellowship with the College and So-ciety for Clinical Vas-cular Science of Great Britain and Ire-land [requires 3-4 years post graduate study, training and ex-perience of Vascular Ultrasound] or equiva-lent qualification.
• Professional registra-tion with AHCS.
• Doctoral level qualifi-cation.

Desirable criteria

• PGCert in Ultrasound
• Physics A level or equivalent

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Extensive experience and highly specialised knowledge in relevant field.
• Highly effective at making appropriate decisions and rec-ommendations re-garding referral of pa-tients for further tests.
• Effective teaching and training skills for professional, clinical and support staff.

Desirable criteria

• Expert knowledge of other clinical measurement modalities.

Skills

Essential criteria

• Highly developed physical skills in per-forming highly com-plex Advanced Vas-cular Ultrasound scans and other phys-iological measure-ments with the high-est levels of precision, speed and accuracy.
• Highly developed & effective communica-tion skills, both written and spoken
