We are looking for enthusiastic tax professionals to join our market-leading Private Client team in Cambridge.

Our team focuses on providing private client tax advice and compliance services to wealthy individuals, their families, their businesses and trusts. We have a truly diverse client base including entrepreneurs, trustees, partners in professional practices, family offices and more.

We advise on all aspects of our clients' tax affairs including as our clients go through transformative commercial transactions but also ensure that their tax returns are filed accurately and on time.

You will become part of a very dynamic and successful team, and help the practice maintain and grow the firm's presence in the market where we already have a great deal of experience and serve many of the very wealthiest individuals in the UK and the vast majority of the top tier legal practices. The variety and complexity of our clients' affairs means that you will have plenty of development opportunities - both technically and personally - as well as the chance to learn and work with the market leaders.

We take individual development very seriously and as well as the opportunity to work on a range of diverse and challenging clients with direct interaction with the partners and directors in the team, you will also receive continuous on the job training.

Our performance management process is structured, transparent and interactive, ensuring you'll receive ongoing supportive feedback to help you achieve your goals.

As a Consultant, your responsibilities may include:

  • Assist Associate Directors, Directors and Partners with our client relationships, which will include:
    • technical delivery
    • project management
    • client conversations
    • operational management
  • Exercise commercial judgement, making decisions on how to progress work, in consultation with Associate Directors/Directors/Partners.
  • Prepare high quality and technically accurate tax technical advice for our clients and deliver this advice in a straightforward manner to the client.
  • Coach and mentor more junior members of the team who will assist you in your work but also be looking to you to help develop them.
  • Coordinate the timely preparation and submission of tax returns to ensure clients obligations are met.
  • Take responsibility for the timely delivery to our clients.
  • Identify opportunities on existing accounts.
  • Contribute towards our brand by building a network amongst professional advisors and potential clients.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience of advising high net worth individuals and/or professional practices on their UK tax position;
  • ATT/ACA/CTA qualification or equivalent. Support will be available for the CTA qualification if not already held.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as sound written and oral skills.
  • Experience of assisting in developing and maintaining client relationships.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
