The Opportunity
As the Construction Support Services Manager, you'll step into a vital leadership role at the heart of one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Head of Site Operations and Performance Improvement, you'll be responsible for overseeing and delivering a wide range of essential services that keep Hinkley Point C functioning efficiently, including bussing, park-and-ride operations, catering and welfare, off-site accommodation, communication networks, fuel supplies, utilities, water, and waste management.
Your focus will be on creating a seamless and responsive support system that enables safe, secure, and effective project delivery. You'll lead the Construction Support Services Team, guiding and supporting them as they provide the infrastructure required for success across the HPC construction site and any associated developments. A key part of your role will be ensuring that these services are fully integrated into the wider project delivery model, adapting and optimising site solutions to meet evolving needs.
Your ability to foster a spirit of teamwork and collaboration will be essential. You'll work closely with colleagues across the project to build trust, drive efficiency, and deliver results. By promoting a culture of cooperation, you'll help your team thrive and ensure Hinkley Point C continues to progress with the support systems it needs to succeed.

What you'll be doing
In this role, you'll play a key part in driving the safe and efficient delivery of one of the UK's most complex infrastructure projects. As a leader within Construction Support Services, your focus will be on ensuring all site services align with health, safety, and environmental standards while actively contributing to the overall success of Hinkley Point C. You'll oversee the end-to-end delivery of essential support functions, both directly and through contractors, and ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will span across performance analysis, regulatory compliance, business continuity planning, and fostering a culture of innovation that improves productivity and service integration. Working cross-functionally with other departments, you'll be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction and day-to-day effectiveness of site support operations. Additional roles and responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Hinkley Point A and B, as well as key external stakeholders and local authorities, serving as the main point of contact.
- Support the planning and delivery of essential site infrastructure to enable the safe and efficient movement of people, equipment, and materials - including accommodation, cranes, hoists, security, fuel, temporary services, and catering.
- Define and implement clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and an effective reporting framework for all Construction Support Services.
- Integrate construction support service activities in full alignment with Site Licence conditions, regulatory requirements, and relevant safety and infrastructure legislation.
- Champion sustainability by ensuring waste management and disposal practices on site meet environmental targets and contribute to HPC's sustainability goals.
- Manage and coordinate all activities within the Site Wide Infrastructure (SWI) areas in line with the HPC Area Management model.
- Continuously review and optimise departmental resources, processes, and operations to remain fully compliant with HPC project standards and external regulator expectations.
Who you are
We are looking for a driven and highly skilled individual with strong stakeholder and people management experience to take on a key role in driving the success of our project. You should bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and proven leadership abilities to ensure effective management and delivery in a highly regulated environment. If you have a history of managing large projects or industrial plant environments, along with a knack for improving processes and delivering results, we'd love to hear from you.
Additional requirements include:
- A degree in a related subject or relevant experience within the industry.
- Experience in developing and managing budgets effectively.
- Proven management experience within a large project or industrial plant environment.
- Familiarity with working in highly regulated environments, with a focus on compliance.
- Strong long-term vision, with the ability to establish, develop, and implement strategies to achieve objectives, while learning from both successes and challenges.
- A track record of delivering performance improvements within a large project or logistics function (e.g., cost reduction, process enhancements, innovation).
- A personal commitment to sustainability, particularly in logistics procurement and supply chain development.
- Excellent communication skills to build empathy, offer internal support, and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
- Intellectual capacity to manage complex logistics issues with a strategic, big-picture approach, and the ability to execute logistics and supply chain vision, strategy, and priorities.
