Construction Manager
Wakefield
We require a Construction Manager to join our team in Wakefield. As a Construction Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all site civil construction activities and be involved in reviewing tender returns.
Your New Job
Principal Accountabilities:
- Appointed person for all lifting operations
- Temporary Works Co-Ordinator
- Ensure all civil construction activities on site are compliant to current legislation and ACoPs.
- Liaise with Estimating team for input on tenders
- Advise Project Managers on all construction activities
- Advise on all ITP's and ITR's relating to civil activities.
- Ensure the appropriate permits are being issued.
- Input into durations and sequencing for project programmes
- Reviewing and commenting on suppliers tender returns.
- Advising Project Managers on Civil contractors RAMS and occasionally reviewing RAMS.
- Undertake leadership tours on projects and complete the necessary forms.
Required Qualifications & Professional Membership(s):
- AP 61 CPCS appointed person (Desirable)
- Temporary Works Co-Ordinator
- SMSTS
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management
- IPAF (Desirable)
- PASMA (Desirable)
- CISRS Scaffold Awareness
- Managers CSCS black card
Knowledge & Experience:
- Has experience as a Temporary works co- Ordinator (Desirable)
- Minimum of 10 years' experience within the construction industry, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Familiarity with safety audits, risk assessments and implementing safety protocols
- Ability to track expenses, prevent cost overruns and make cost - effective decisions while maintaining quality and safety.
- Acting as appointed person for lifting operations.

- Good customer skills
- Be able to uses the basic Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
