Role: Configuration Technical Planning Manager

Location: Birmingham

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Package: £36,000 plus large company benefits, company car, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year

Hours: 9.00 am - 5.30 pm Monday - Friday. We also offer the opportunity to benefit from a Core Hours arrangement (role-specific), providing flexibility around your personal needs

Role purpose:

Reporting directly into the Operations Manager, you will be the direct line manager for the Service Desk Team within the SCC Configuration Centre, whilst also providing support to our Production/Breakfix teams, Account/Project teams, Pre-sales team and ultimately our customers. The successful candidate will ensure that configuration services are transitioned and delivered to the required business and customer standards.

Security Clearance or the willingness to apply will be required for this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain the Configuration Centre internal infrastructure and create and maintain Configuration Centre processes.
  • Provide regular reporting in line with operational requirements.
  • Support the Operations Manager in research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software and look to implement new service offerings.
  • Carry out complaint investigations and respond with appropriate preventative actions where possible.
  • Conduct regular meetings and PDRs with teams.
  • Carry out group inductions and customer tours as and when required.
  • Ensure Resource Planner are updated on COPS and reviewed Weekly and ensure capacity against production and rollovers/queries reviewed Monthly.
  • Ensure Time & Motion studies are carried out for new customer processes to assist in defining a KPI.
  • Provide awareness training to supporting SCC departments.
  • Attend offsite customer/internal meetings, when required, to support the transition of new configuration services.
  • Carry out relevant processes in line with P&L reporting.
  • Adhere to and assist in implementing and maintaining the configuration centre's ISO accreditation standards that support this job role function, including any supporting internal/external audits.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience within a similar team leader role.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present to key stakeholders.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking.
  • Proven demonstrable experience working within an IT environment working to Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreement targets.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with IT Hardware and software e.g. Desktop/Laptop/Enterprise. Windows/Android/IOS etc.
  • A demonstrable high skill level in regards to decision making, time management and work planning activity.
  • A strong focus on customer service and supporting teams to meet required customer deadlines.
  • Must be able to obtain the Government and/or Police Security levels required in order to meet the operational requirements of the role (no caveats) and as per the requirements stipulated in relevant customer contracts.
