About the role

NFU Mutual is seeking a Conduct Regulation Assurance Operations Manager to join our dedicated second line conduct assurance team . In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Head of Conduct Regulation (Assurance) to formulate and deliver an effective and agile risk-based Conduct Regulation Assurance Strategy. Your leadership will be instrumental in managing and coaching the Conduct Regulation Assurance Team to deliver the Annual Conduct Assurance Plan, to add value and provide assurance to the Board and senior management over key regulatory conduct risks and the delivery of good customer outcomes.

You will use your deep conduct regulatory knowledge to develop, monitor, and manage the delivery of the Conduct Regulation Assurance Operational Plan to meet annual targets. This includes overseeing the assurance process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and value addition in all outputs. You will assist in Board Risk Committee and other committee reporting, providing valuable management information and insights from assurance activities. Additionally, you will recommend and implement procedural enhancements to optimise assurance methodologies and increase efficiency.

Building strong, lasting relationships with Compliance Department, Risk Division colleagues, business stakeholders, and professional bodies will be essential to enhance the value of assurance work. You will also manage short-term projects and activities to meet specified standards and outcomes.

This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.

About you

You'll have a strong technical understanding of second line assurance/ third line audit, risk and compliance management. You are knowledgeable about the FCA Handbook and conduct regulation, and you have a good understanding of the FCA approach to both policy and supervision.

You'll have proven project management skills, with the ability to work agilely and prioritise effectively. Experience in delivering operational business plans and demonstrable leadership skills is essential. You'll also have a strong track record of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
