Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Mon to Fri

What you'll do

The Compliance Monitoring Manager will be a Financial Crime subject matter expert and is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager of Policy, Monitoring and Governance with the creation and delivery of a robust compliance monitoring framework to ensure Vodafone meets its regulatory obligations. The Compliance Monitoring Manager will carry out reviews assessing Vodafone's ability to effectively monitor, detect, and report financial crimes, including money laundering, bribery/corruption and breaches of economic sanctions/trade controls. The role re-enforces Vodafone's culture to comply with regulatory requirements by challenging gaps and behaviours that undermine regulatory compliance.
• Deliver the compliance monitoring plan for financial crime activities to assess compliance to anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, sanctions laws, and other financial crime prevention regulations,
• Provide senior leadership with independent assessments of UK regulatory compliance status.
• Analyse customer interactions, process operations, records, contracts and data sets to assess regulatory compliance.
• Drive cross-functional stakeholder discussions to address identified compliance gaps.
• Brief senior leaders on monitoring outcomes and escalate issues where appropriate.
• Agree corrective actions and hold senior leaders to account for delivery.
• Provide content for the UK Risk & Compliance Committee and associated sub-forums.
• Act as team subject matter expert for financial crime activities such as, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption and anti-money laundering.
• Perform monitoring risk assessments to shape and adjust the monitoring plan where needed.
• Provide support and expertise to colleagues within the wider Risk & Compliance team.
• Engage and coordinate with colleagues from 1st and 3rd lines of defence.
• Manage or support ad hoc projects as required.

Who you are
• 2+ years of experience in financial crime prevention, AML, or compliance within the financial services or related industry.
• Solid understanding of financial crime regulations and governance, compliance and risk management principles.
• Experience operating a monitoring, assurance or audit framework within a 3 lines of defence model.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership.
• Strong analytical, written and communication skills, including Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of telecoms products would be an advantage.
