Who we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced, highly motivated Compliance Manager to join our Group Compliance team, within our Public Markets area.

In this role, you'll play an important part in aligning and developing the compliance framework to support the teams across Schroders' asset management business. You'll engage proactively with compliance and business stakeholders on a range of activities, from surveillance and monitoring through to training and strategic projects relating to new regulations.

The base

Our HQ is in the City of London. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly.

The team

You'll join a collaborative, global Compliance function. The Public Markets team partners with colleagues across equities, fixed income and multi-asset investment strategies, supporting high standards of integrity and good conduct to deliver positive outcomes for clients and the business.

What you'll do

  • Advise and support investment teams on compliance matters, acting as a trusted partner.
  • Serve as a key contact for the Public Markets business regarding regulatory requirements, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and review internal compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and group best practices.
  • Deliver tailored compliance training to business stakeholders in line with the group training programme.
  • Monitor evolving regulations, interpret new rules, and maintain engagement with relevant regulators when required.
  • Contribute to activities such as strategic firmwide projects, the implementation of new regulatory requirements, and ongoing surveillance and monitoring.
  • Undertake desk-based monitoring of trading and investment activities; provide guidance and oversight to junior team members.
  • Collaborate on compliance matters with colleagues in overseas offices as needed.
  • Support risk-based surveillance of investment and trading activities and contribute to thematic reviews.

The Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications you need

  • Significant experience in a compliance role within asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and challenge first-line teams effectively
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail; capable of communicating complex information clearly to all audiences.
  • Proactively delivers solutions across complex transactions and new product launches.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
