Are you an experienced compliance professional with a passion for safety, technical excellence, and delivering high-quality facilities management services? We're looking for a Technical Compliance Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in maintaining statutory, legal and operational standards across Compass UK, with specific responsibility for our Vending Estates portfolio.
About the Role
As a Technical Compliance Manager, you'll be the go-to subject matter expert for technical compliance, risk management, and engineering governance. You'll carry out high-risk permit issuing, auditing, and provide expert guidance to ensure our sites, teams, and contractors operate safely, legally, and in line with ISO and industry standards.
In addition, you'll support the Amplifi (Vending) sector through hands-on estates management, ensuring statutory compliance and managing the asset PPM lifecycle.
This is a national, mobile role where no two days will be the same - ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, influence, and making a real operational impact.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Compliance & Governance
- Issue high-risk permits and assess RAMS for contractors.
- Act as Technical Authority / Authorising Engineer / Responsible Person within your discipline.
- Conduct internal audits, compliance checks, and ensure alignment with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
- Develop action plans following audits and drive continuous technical improvement.
Vending Estates Management
- Ensure statutory and mandatory compliance across the vending estate.
- Manage the PPM schedule and escalate issues where required.
- Support Contract Managers, Unit Managers, and Engineering Support teams on technical matters.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted client relationships and provide expert advice.
- Deliver accurate compliance reporting and attend business reviews.
- Support procurement of specialist contractors and consultants.
Policy & Documentation
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Compass UK&I technical policy.
- Ensure compliance obligations are documented and managed through internal risk systems.
- Collaborate with wider HSEQ and quality teams to ensure a consistent approach.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Strong experience managing risk and compliance within buildings or Facilities Management.
- Proven background working with multi-site operations and senior stakeholders.
- Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Confident digital and web-based systems user.
Desirable
- Chartered or Incorporated status (or working toward it).
- Project Management or CDM experience.
- Previous experience as Authorising Engineer or Authorised Person.
