About the Role:
As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to Standards and Compliance across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Compliance Manager to join our Agriculture team.
The role requires travel to our nationwide sites and you would be required to enter and be exposed to the different working environments. As a Compliance Manager you'll be working Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 (You will be home based with the requirement to travel to our various sites)
What will you be doing as a Compliance Manager at Avara?
As Compliance Manager your role will be to maintain the Avara standards. Also to take ownership of compliance within the Avara supply chain - chicken, turkey and Milling.
The compliance manager will work with the wider compliance team in ensuring all our farms, hatcheries and mills are audit ready, taking ownership of the end to end management of all farm assurance schemes to include booking audits, closing out non-conformance and liaising with the certification bodies.This role will be responsible for conducting the site audits on the company's farms/hatcheries/mills with support of the wider compliance team.
What will your key responsibilities as Compliance Manager include?
- Giving guidance on the technical requirements for each particular standard by providing the required policies and procedures
- Keeping Managers and production teams informed of any changes required to the standards/requirements
- Assisting in the design and completion of audit paperwork, including non-conformance resolution
- Completing "spot" audits and communicate/correct non-conformances
- Conducting Avara Internal Agricultural Audits
- Conduct supplier audits to agreed protocols as and when required by visiting the supplier's premises; conducting the appropriate audit; writing up the audit report; delivering the feedback to the management team; advising the supplier of any non-conformances and working together with them to find solutions to comply where necessary.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Experience of livestock (poultry) and/or poultry processing
- Up to date knowledge of animal welfare standards
- Experience of audits, customer protocols and relevant legislation would be desirable
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all levels and to form lasting relationships
- Good time management - must be organised and have attention to detail whilst being able to prioritise workload
- Be able to work on own initiative
- Sound problem solving and decision-making skills
