Description

We are seeking a Manager, Risk Management & Compliance to join our Internal Audit & Compliance team. This is a strategic and hands-on role that combines strong regulatory expertise with cross-functional collaboration to shape and execute our risk and compliance strategy.

You will play a critical role in ensuring our business maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, codes of conduct, and industry best practices. This role requires a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, audit methodologies, and risk management principles-particularly in environments governed by complex regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Code Compliance (Property Searches & Insurance)

  • Maintain company registration with The Property Codes Compliance Board (PCCB) and ensure full adherence to The Search Code.
  • Liaise with the FCA Principal Firm to ensure appropriate insurance coverage for property search products and compliance with all related regulatory obligations.

Risk Management & Internal Audit

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of internal & external audits across global operations, applying a risk-based audit approach.
  • Own and manage the centralized Risk Management Register, monitoring and escalating material risks or compliance violations to the Director, Internal Audit.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of the global compliance function. Maintain the centralized Compliance Register, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Compliance & Business Support

  • Serve as a compliance subject matter expert, offering guidance to business units on compliance obligations, including complaints handling and conduct standards.
  • Support key regulatory and third-party audits (e.g., SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO27001) by coordinating audit evidence, validating control implementation, and managing audit responses.
  • Respond to service organization control questionnaires to provide assurance control environments are operating effectively.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Professional Experience

  • Demonstrated experience conducting or supporting investigations related to suspicious activity, financial crime, fraud, or regulatory breaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
  • Experience delivering compliance training and working directly with regulators and/or auditors.
  • Proven experience utilizing audit best practices in an audit or regulatory environment. This includes audit sampling, use of terminology, and application of CAS.

Qualifications

  • Professional certification in compliance, audit, accounting, or financial crime (e.g., ICA, CPA, CIA, ACAMS, CISA, CRISC) preferred.

Desirable Experience

  • Background in conveyancing, legal property searches, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with high standards for documentation, reporting, and evidence management.
  • Analytical thinker with sound judgment-able to assess risk, propose mitigation strategies, and make informed decisions.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement and compliance maturity.
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential compliance matters.
  • Auditboard experience is an asset
