Job Description

The Details

The Compliance Manager will be integral to the ASOS Legal team. You will work closely with the Head of Data Privacy and Compliance and will have responsibility for ensuring the continued development, maintenance and management of the Global Compliance Program for ASOS. You'll help ASOS to take the next steps in its journey towards best-in-class governance, transitioning from start-up mode to a more mature operating environment. What You'll be Doing

  • Working with the Head of Data Privacy and Compliance to mature and deliver the Global Compliance Framework for ASOS - aiming to make compliance simple for ASOSers.
  • Reviewing ASOS' compliance requirements and identifying improvement areas as remediation activities.
  • Developing and refining policies in connection to existing and upcoming relevant regulatory compliance requirements. Working cross functionally to design and embed a policy update process and policy management framework.
  • Horizon scanning to ensure the business is prepared for future regulatory changes.
  • Maintaining appropriate training and communication programmes to help embed the Compliance Framework within the business and ensure consistent understanding of key compliance policies and procedures.
  • Working cross functionally with key stakeholders across People Experience (PX), Legal, Data Protection and Co-Sec to manage a robust Compliance and Ethics programme on the areas of Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), Code of Conduct, Declaration of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
  • As a senior internal business partner, building collaborative relationships to drive the compliance agenda and business maturity forwards.
  • Acting as an independent advisor and business partner - a critical friend to help the business achieve its vision and objectives.
  • Working with emerging second line functions to present an aligned approach to compliance, finding efficiencies from working together where possible.
  • Responsible for following up on agreed actions and driving through change.
  • If required, assisting the Data Privacy team.
  • Supporting our culture by driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.

Qualifications

About You

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the flexibility and agility to work within a fast paced, ever-changing business and risk landscape.
  • Strong cross functional communication and influencing skills.
  • A diverse compliance technical background.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Crime regulation, Sanctions regulation and Consumer Credit
  • Experienced in conducting ad-hoc investigations as required.
  • E-commerce and/or retail experience.
  • Experience building a team, leading in-house compliance.
  • A thought "leader" with respect to risk management, governance, compliance and internal control best practice.
  • Someone who wants to make a difference and is excited by opportunity to grow.
