Person specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Multi-professional NVQ Level 3, or equivalent.
  • Numeracy and Literacy skills (to GCSE level or equivalent)

Desirable criteria

  • Foundation degree in Health and Social Care

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience in working at the level of a Therapy/Rehabilitation Assistant carrying out therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-agency, multi-professional team.
  • Evidence of working unsupervised.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in falls/general rehabilitation in acute or community. Experience of training other staff.
  • Experience as a care/voluntary work.

Skills

Essential criteria

  • Ability to move and handle patients and equipment with appropriate training
  • Ability to teach practical skills
  • Able to develop and maintain effective communication with a range of people about a range of matters
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Able to maintain quality of own work
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Standard IT and Keyboard Skills
  • Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Able to apply knowledge of polices, procedures, legislation and professional standards of practice

Aptitudes

Essential criteria

  • Able to work to time pressures and unpredictable work pattern
  • Motivated and patient focused
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to travel to various bases within the Trust - Car Driver and access to a car

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
