Amazon is seeking a communications professional to create employee-facing communications for Amazon Operations associates and leaders across Europe.
As a specialist on the Operations Internal Communications team, you will support communication efforts with various Amazon Operations stakeholders. The position will provide support for associates and managers through clear, factual communications and will lead strategic communication counsel to cross-functional partners on a wide range of complex topics.
As a communications specialist, you will write content for the business-specific editorial calendar; manage issues, changes, and crisis communications; and execute on strategic employee communications, programs, and experiences across the business. You will insist on high standards, dive deep into details, have a strong bias for action, and manage competing priorities.
The role would suit a detail-orientated people person with a passion for problem-solving and writing. You will keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues, anticipate employee questions/reactions, and quickly prepare thorough messaging strategies.
This role will serve as a subject matter expert on key pillars to drive business goals forward through effective communications. This person will sometimes have to participate in issues management outside of their topic area, be a team player, and work closely with partners driving long-term proactive content creation and strategy.
This position is based in London.
Key job responsibilities
• Work as part of the EU Operations Internal Comms team, developing internal communications plans and content with clear, tailored narratives to engage Amazon's operations employee base
• Strategic creation and oversight of the editorial calendar
• Develop internal communication plans for new programs, policies, and changes
• Coordinate the delivery of content and channels
• Proactively build and manage cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders, functions, and geographies
• Build stakeholder relationships across a range of businesses to establish a news agenda
• Manage and support crisis communications as needed and look around corners for risk
• Be the employee experience advocate, representing and protecting this through all strategies and decision-making
• Raise the bar on the team through passion for internal communications, willingness to take risk, impeccable judgment, and logic and care in decision-making

About the team
From the UK and Ireland to Poland, France to Italy, Spain to Germany, and everywhere in between, the European Operations Internal Communications team supports the first, middle, and last miles across the Operations business at Amazon. We're a dynamic group of communicators with a passion for the associate and manager experience. We each bring a unique and diverse set of experiences to the table. Some of us started at Amazon as frontline associates, others are former journalists, and some grew up in the PR industry with extensive internal and external communications experience. Basic Qualifications
- Experience in professional communications or public relations
- Bachelor's degree
- Internal communications, public relations, journalism experience building robust communications programs and delivering results
- Excellent writing communication skills are a must
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an internal communications profession
- Ability to think and communicate clearly, formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues, and create a concise and well-written narrative
- Experience with a national or global company
- Experience in change management or issues management
- Experience developing relevant content for a diverse, remote, and mobile workforce
- Experience developing creative approaches to difficult communications challenges
- Possess a strategic approach to problems solving; able to anticipate potential reputation issues
- Ability to exercise high judgment in fast-pace environment and with tight deadlines
- Keenly focused and able to pay attention to important details
