About the role:
As a part of the Marketing and Communications Team, this position will play an important role in enabling LifeArc to demonstrate impact for people living with rare diseases and drug-resistant infections. This will involve working with teams across the organisation to identify compelling content, and to advise on the most impactful communications approaches to developing content in partnership with the wider Marketing and Communications Team.
About you:
You will:
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to proactively identify and develop compelling content from across LifeArc to show the range of ongoing work and the impact it is having for people living with rare diseases and drug-resistant infections.
- Act as a key point of connection between the communications team and the wider organisation, building strong relationships that enable a steady pipeline of high-quality impact stories.
- Work closely with the Head of Strategic Communications and colleagues in the Communications and Marketing Team to determine the most compelling narratives and communications strategies for both internal and external audiences.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of content, from story identification, to briefing the wider team and working in partnership to deliver writing, production, publication and evaluation across LifeArc's channels (digital, social, media, PR and internal communications).
- Work collaboratively with external stakeholders and partners on joint initiatives, developing strong working relationships and advising on communication strategies and content sign off and coordinating input/feedback with relevant LifeArc colleagues.
- Support the development and delivery of integrated communications plans for priority projects and programmes, ensuring impact stories are aligned to LifeArc's organisational strategy and campaign priorities.
- Translate complex scientific and technical information into clear, engaging stories, tailored for different audiences including people living with rare diseases and drug-resistant infections, researchers, clinicians, partners, policymakers, other funders, internal staff and the wider public.
- Work with the wider Marketing and Communications Team to monitor and assess the performance and impact of stories, using insight and feedback to refine storytelling approaches and improve future content.
- Provide flexible support to other communications activity and projects where needed, contributing to a collaborative and impact-focused team culture.
Essential experience required:
- Demonstrable experience in communications, PR or a related role.
- Demonstrable experience proactively sourcing, developing and delivering content for expert and non-expert audiences.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to turn complex scientific or technical information into accessible, engaging narratives.
- Experience creating content for use across multiple channels (digital, social, PR/media, internal communications) and providing strategic advice on the best approach
- Proven ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, becoming a trusted partner.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise stories that deliver the greatest impact.
Desirable:
- Experience working in science communication or health/medical research organisations.
- Experience of using insight or analytics to assess content performance and drive continuous improvement.
Education:
- Degree in communications, PR, life sciences, or field relevant to communications in the life sciences field (or vocational equivalent).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take complex information and make it accessible and engaging for a range of audiences.
