Better Start currently has a number of opportunities to join the team, Better Start is a unique and exciting place to work with the opportunity to make local impact for children and families in Blackpool and nationally influence policy and practice in Early Years.

Better Start received 12 years of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund in 2015 to improve life chances for our youngest children in Blackpool. The team in Blackpool consists of passionate and dynamic staff from a range of backgrounds who are committed to using science, evidence and best practice to transform systems around children and families. The experience gained through the delivery in Blackpool is now being scaled up across the UK and Better Start have the ambition to improve early years systems nationally.

The role of the Communications Manager strategically directs the work of the communications team, this includes PR and media, knowledge transfer, and events and conferences. The role requires a candidate who has a mix of marketing and communications skills and is able to design and deliver communications for mixed audiences from professionals to local communities.
