Working Hours: 37 Hours a Week
Worker Type: Hybrid Worker
Salary: Starting Salary is £46,142 (Level 1) rising to £49,282 (Level 4) per annum (pro rata for part-time)
Location: Clocktower, Eastcroft Depot, London Road, Nottingham NG2 3AH
We've got an exciting opportunity available for talented individuals to join the Midlands Net Zero Hub as our Communications and Engagement Manager.
This role will sit within the Midlands Net Zero Hub, a DESNZ-funded organisation for which Nottingham City Council is our accountable body.

About the Role
Join the Midlands Net Zero Hub as our Engagement and Communications Lead and play a pivotal role in driving the UK's transition to net zero. You'll develop and deliver a dynamic communications strategy, championing the Hub's objectives across regional and national platforms. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including government departments, Ministers, and community leaders. You'll enhance the visibility and impact of our work.
This is a unique opportunity to lead collaborative engagement efforts, chair a national working group, and shape the narrative of local net-zero initiatives across the Midlands and beyond.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualifications: A degree or equivalent experience in communications, sustainability, public policy, or a related field is essential.
- Experience: The role requires proven experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and managing complex projects and budgets.
- Knowledge: A Strong understanding of net-zero policy, public sector governance, and regional and national policy landscapes is key.
- Skills: Excellent communication, relationship-building, strategic thinking, and digital engagement skills are vital.
- Competencies: The post holder must demonstrate leadership, collaboration, adaptability, initiative, and integrity.
