Role Responsibility

There is an exciting opportunity to join KCC's leadership team as a Commissioning Manager. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Integrated Commissioning leadership team, supporting the Assistant Director in providing strategic direction to a team of Senior Commissioners whilst leading on cross cutting commissioning and procurement of new services.

The team delivers activity across a variety of portfolios that support the Councils Public Health agenda in reducing health inequalities, improving the opportunities and outcomes for the residents of Kent.

The successful candidate will lead complex recommissioning activity across multiple public health services, supporting KCC's Strategic Outcomes, therefore a strong understanding of relevant legislation is essential.

This role will involve working in close partnership with Public Health, Adult and Children's Social Care, NHS England, Providers, other key stakeholders and co-commissioners. Therefore, applicants must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside of the Council. They must also be able to evidence extensive commissioning experience, finance and project management skills. In addition, the role requires the individual to be highly organised and able to manage multiple strands of work within tight deadlines.

This is a full-time post for 24 months. (Secondments will be considered for KCC staff with manager's prior approval to be released)

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Shortlisting will include a skills and psychometric testing. Interviews may take place in person.
