The role

To work across a portfolio of daytime content spanning, magazine style, topical, lifestyle and formatted content. Content that is accessible, inclusive, insightful, relevant and entertaining. To creatively manage content for ITV and ITVX, and any other relevant platform. To represent the M&E division on all aspects of production, casting, and editorial.

Creative strategy:

Help to identify and develop ideas to the point of commission.

Building relationships:

To help build relationships with Editors, Producers, on and off screen talent.

Commissioning strategy:

Together with the team fulfil responsibilities in Press, PR, Marketing, Programme Strategy.

Key responsibilities

Commissioned projects:

  • Creative management of a broad range of projects in Daytime, and be point of contact for the production.
  • Keeping across all key dates in production cycleEnsuring projects are delivered on time
  • Ensuring up to date information is provided to management when neededSupplying PR, Marketing etc. with relevant and best material
  • Ensuring that series/programmes fully comply and conform to editorial guidelines and that contributors are on board while continuing to track any editorial policy issues that may arise.

New ideas/Creative Strategy:

  • Encouraging an innovative approach to mainstream ideas
  • Delivering on our diversity commitments
  • Helping to identify opportunities within and outside of the portfolio for ITV and ITVX for Producers.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the existing strong relationships withProducers.To help identify the best off- and on-screen talent for key projects

Commissioning Team Support/Strategy:

As directed by the Director of Entertainment and Daytime, helping to prepare strategy documents, conference speeches; commissioning forms for business sign off; awards submissions; identifying clips for show-reels, trails etc.

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)

  • Experience in live fast paced production.
  • Executive Producer experience.
  • In depth knowledge of the broadcast landscape.
  • A clear understanding of editorial policy and compliance issues.
  • An ability to identify key trends and issues, to anticipate problems and deliver solutions
  • Clear and proven understanding and knowledge of all compliance responsibilities and procedures, Legal and ITV Trust issues.
  • Commitment to Diversity in all its forms, on and off screen and the ability to demonstrate a pro-active approach to reflecting a cross-section of communities
  • Enthusiasm for developing content online as well as on-screen where appropriate
  • Be able to identify ways to refresh formats.

Other things we're looking for (key criteria)

  • A keen understanding of the ITV and ITVX audience.
  • Experience in commissioning isn't crucial but useful.
  • An excellent communicator who can develop and maintain relationships with all relevant parties internally and externally, acting as an ambassador for ITV
  • An ability to think creatively & imaginatively within the mainstream.

Ability to retain focus on long- term objectives and retain a detailed grasp ofday-to-day issues
